Parenting Consultant
A Parenting Consultant is a professional with whom the parties contract to resolve ongoing parenting issues of a broader scope than just the arrangement or re-arrangement of parenting time. They are most often used in “high-conflict” cases, where the parties have very different parenting styles, beliefs, opinions, and where one or both parents have a high degree of concern about the behavior or parenting style of the other.
If the parties contract with a Parenting Consultant, they and their attorneys must obtain a court order that specifies what issues or types of issues the Consultant may decide if they are unable to help the parties reach an agreement.
